“Initiative for Rehabilitation of Drug Addiction (IRA)” is a voluntary organization that provides comprehensive rehabilitation services to people seeking to recover from drug addiction in Bangladesh. Our goal is not just physical inactivity (“detoxification”), but also to ensure mental, behavioral, social and spiritual protection and reformation.
What We Do
Detoxification and Treatment: Initially, when a person wants to stop using drugs, we start the work of removing the disabling condition by providing physical and mental dedication and medical support.
Group Therapy and Counseling: Group sessions, face-to-face therapy, and weekly assessments are conducted to address the mental and social problems that arise along with drug addiction.
Educational Workshops and Awareness: Training and awareness sessions are conducted on the ill effects of addiction, reassessment, self-esteem and lifestyle development of people.
Rehabilitation and Transition Phase: 3 months of residential rehabilitation after the main treatment, and then another 3 months of follow-up or transition service so that the person can return to social, family and professional life in a healthy way.
Supportive Environment: Rehabilitation activities take place in a calm, safe, clean and pleasant environment. The center is located outside the city limits, where there is natural air, light and security, 24-hour CCTV and supervision.
